Butler - Minister & Elder |
Leroy
Butler, Jr. was ordained as one of the Elders of Woodlawn
Forrest in March 2000. He serves in many capacities in leading
the congregation of the church.
Bro. Butler
attended Valdosta City Schools and graduated in 1967. After
graduation he attended Valdosta State College, Valdosta Area
Vocational Technical School, Southern Bible Institute, Alabama
Christian School of Religion, University of Biblical Studies
and Southwest Bible College & Seminary.
He and his
wife Gloria have two daughters, Tyrah Nichole and Desdamona
Marlana.

James
C. Shearry Sr. - Elder |
James C. Shearry, Sr.
serves as an Elder, instructor for the solid foundation class, and
a member of the minister’s executive staff.
At the West Adair Church he served as a deacon, bible school
teacher coordinator, member of the finance committee, and bible
school teacher. Bro. Shearry has also served as minister for the
East Park Avenue Church of Christ in Hahira, Georgia, for fourteen
months.
Bro. Shearry attended Valdosta City Schools prior to serving
two years in the United States Army as a military police officer.
He studied Industrial Residential Electricity at Valdosta Technical
College and is currently employed at PCS/Phosphate in White Springs,
Florida.
He is married to the former Francine Ceasar. They have three
children, Adrina Walker (John), James Jr., and Jennifer Thompson
(Timothy) who are all faithful members of the church.

Steve
A. Myers Sr. - Elder |
Steve
A. Myers, Sr.
is an Elder and teaches the Timothy Class for boys in seventh thru
twelfth grade. He periodically instructs the adult class. Bro. Myers
co-chairs the Usher Ministry and is the treasurer for Woodlawn Forrest.
He, along with his wife, has served as youth directors since March
1999.
Bro. Myers attended Lowndes County Schools and served in the
United States Army for three years. He received an Associates
Degree in General Studies from Georgia Military College in June
1985. He is the owner and operator of Flex Tran Transportation
and has been a school bus driver for the Lowndes County School
System for the past seven years.
He
is married to Belinda Myers. They have three children, Steve Jr.,
Rena Wright (Timothy), and Brandon, who are all Christians. They
also have three grandchildren, Brianna Mone’t, Caleb Xavier,
and Ayanna Harmony Wright.

Alfonso Breeden is
a deacon and serves as an usher. He is an Usher Team leader, assistant
Body Life Group leader, a member of the Evangelism Ministry and
the Homebound Ministry.
Bro. Breeden attended Valdosta City Schools. He also attended
Valdosta State College and served in the United States Air Force.
He has been employed at Weyerhauser Trus Joist for 25 years.
He
is married to the former Lola McGill. They have four children,
Fred, Brian, Cedric, and Tabitha. They are also the grandparents
of nine grandchildren.

Walter Settles
is a deacon, serves as a member of the Usher Ministry and is active
with his Body Life Group. He has also served as a member of the
Stewardship Task Force and as a member of the Board of Directors.
Bro. Settles is a native of Trenton, South Carolina, and was
baptized in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There, he served faithfully
before retiring and moving to Valdosta.
He
has been married to his wife, Rosa, for more than 40 years. They
are the parents of eight children.

Harry
Howell, Sr. - Deacon |
Harry Howell, Sr.
is a deacon and bible school teacher. Her serves on the Usher Ministry
and as assistant Body Life Group leader.
Bro. Howell has driven trucks for two plumbing companies in Valdosta
for more than fifteen years. He has served as shop manager and
warehouse manager for Radney Plumbing Company for 2 ½ years.
He
is married to the former Eula Williams. They have three children
and six grandchildren.

Willie
Ferrebee is a deacon and chairperson of the Audio Visual
Ministry. He also serves on the Usher Ministry.
Bro. Ferrebee
graduated from Savannah State University with a Bachelor’s
Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and served in the
United States Navy as an electronics technician for 24 years.
He is currently employed with the Valdosta City Schools System.
He is married
to the former Vanessa M. Redmond. They have three daughters, who
are all members of the Church of Christ.

Andre'
Norwood - Minister of Maturity |
Andre’ Norwood
is Minister of Maturity and a Minister of Evangelism at Woodlawn
Forrest. He serves as a Body Life Group leader and as an assistant
adult Wednesday Bible Class instructor. He also facilitates several
workshops including “Gaining Your Soul in Fifteen Ways”
and “Discovering Spiritual Maturity.”
Bro. Norwood graduated from Valdosta High School and served in
the United States Army, where he saw combat action in Operation
Desert Storm and was awarded the Army Accommodation Medal. His
education includes the Online School of Biblical Studies, the
Fire Fighters Soul Winners Plan, The Practical Church Growth Workshop,
and the personal training of Bro. Leroy Butler, Jr.
To
date, Bro. Norwood has led over 100 souls to Christ through personal
one-on-one bible studies. He has authored several works since
coming to Christ including “The Practical Guide to Fasting,”
“How To Be Restored,” and “The Sound Theology
Curriculum,” which is currently being taught at Woodlawn
Forrest. In addition, he has written an effective personal evangelism
plan, “The Necessity of Unity.”
He is married
to Shalina Norwood. They have one daughter, Alicia Rene’.
